The 2014 season marks Ben's 15th season with the Stratford Festival, where he plays for live musical productions and has recorded incidental music for dozens of stage plays. He is cellist with the Factory Arts String Quartet and teaches cello and chamber music at the University of Waterloo.

Though he is an accomplished performer of "standard" and early cello rep, Ben is perhaps best known as a performer of new music and obscure music from the 20th century. He was the featured performer on a disc of new works entitled "Notes Towards" which was nominated in 2009 for a Juno Award.

Ben is also an accomplished composer and arranger. His children's show "Lucky" recently completed a successful first tour and he looks forward to more to come. Ben is the Principal Conductor of the Waterloo Chamber Players and Director of the Stratford-Perth Youth Orchestra. He lives in Kitchener with his wife Liz, and three cats.
